In a moment we didn’t expect to see, NCIS and its prequel series Origins are crossing over. This is not a night of TV you’ll want to skip, especially if you are ready to see Mark Harmon reappear on the franchise.
There is a change to the schedule tonight, Tuesday, Nov. 11. The first hour of the block is going to be NCIS: Origins rather than the flagship series, which makes sense considering it’s a crossover event. After all, with Origins being set earlier in the timeline, we need to see that story play out before catching up with the case more than 30 years later.

What time will the NCIS crossover event start on CBS?
You will still want to tune in at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Tuesday, Nov. 11. That’s when the first hour of the crossover starts, with NCIS: Origins season 2 episode 5 kicking things off. Then you’ll need to stick around for the second hour of the night at 9 p.m. ET/PT to see how the case comes to an end in NCIS season 23 episode 5.
For those who do stick around for NCIS: Sydney, nothing has changed with the timeslot of that series. It will end the night at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Of course, you need to know how to watch it now. CBS makes it easy with the likes of the live viewing on the website, but you can also check out CBS on YouTube TV, Fubo TV, and other similar platforms.
Paramount+ is also a best friend, as it offers live viewings of the majority of the CBS primetime shows. The great thing about the streamer is that all episodes head there the following day, so you’ll be able to watch both episodes of the NCIS crossover event on Wednesday, Nov. 12, starting at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT.

What to expect in NCIS and Origins?
Starting with NCIS: Origins, we’ll see Franks and the team head to a small town in California, where everyone has their secrets and nobody wants to trust the federal agents. This makes a murder investigation difficult, but the team will do whatever they can to get to the bottom of the case. The question is whether they get the right guy.
When a naval officer mysteriously dies in the ‘90s, Gibbs (Austin Stowell) and the team travel to the small dust-blown town of Serenity, Calif., where they encounter secret-harboring residents, an uncooperative sheriff and an investigation that will reverberate for decades.

In the second hour of the night on NCIS, we’ll see the case end up reopened due to a man escaping from prison. What’s intriguing is the man has just three weeks left on his sentence, which would suggest that he’s either running from something, wants to end up back behind bars, or is trying to prove his innocence. Why else wouldn’t he just wait for three weeks?
A prison break by an inmate who had just three weeks left on a sentence compels the team to reopen the case of a naval officer’s death that was originally investigated by Gibbs and Franks in the ‘90s, and enlist the help of retired special agent Vera Strickland (Roma Maffia). Also, the team has different views on what to include in a special Navy time capsule.
NCIS and Origins will air their crossover starting at 8/7c on CBS tonight.
