It’s the start of a new year, and this is usually the day we all spend recovering from the night before. Even without drinking, there’s the need to recover from the late night as we say goodbye to one year and hello to another. So, it makes sense that networks won’t air new episodes of top shows tonight. CBS is bringing a night of NCIS: Origins reruns.

Yes, it’s Wednesday night. This is usually a night for reality shows, and we will get that later this month. For now, CBS is focusing on pushing some of its bigger dramas—and the ones that it wants to get an audience for.

Three episodes of NCIS: Origins tonight

Primetime tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 1, is taken up by reruns of NCIS: Origins. This is great for those who haven’t gotten caught up on the Young Gibbs series. If you are caught up, this is just a great chance to rewatch and see what you missed.

The first timeslot will start with a rerun of NCIS: Origins season 1, episode 4, titled “All’s Not Lost.” Gibbs and the team take on a case that involves a missing girl. This one is a little personal for Gibbs, who is still dealing with the loss of his wife and daughter. He doesn’t want someone else to go through that loss, and he gets a little too over-zealous in the hunt.

After that, it’s a look at episode 5 again. Titled “Last Rites,” this is mostly focused on Mike Franks’s past. We get a case that has plagued him for years, and he’s running out of time to solve it. Franks learns that an inmate is facing his execution date, and this is the last chance for him to share where he buried a body decades earlier. We certainly get to see how Franks can manipulate situations if he needs to.

Finally, it’s all about episode 6, titled “Incognito.” This is a Lala-focused episode, as she struggles to find her place on the team. Meanwhile, the team handle the death of a Navy seaman who may have had a shared secret that will threaten national security.

When will NCIS: Origins return with new episodes?

Of course, while we enjoy reruns, we would prefer to get new episodes of our favorite shows. So, when is NCIS: Origins back with new episodes? Well, we have to wait until the end of January.

NCIS: Origins returns from its winter break on Monday, Jan. 27 at 10/9c. We’re closer to the date than it seems right now, and fewer breaks after this will certainly make up for the long break now.

NCIS: Origins is available to stream on Paramount+.
