Gibbs is not afraid to do what it takes to solve a case, and we know that from the original series. It’s time to see that in play in the 1990s in NCIS: Origins season 1, episode 3.
After a two-part premiere that introduced us to a young Gibbs and the team, it was clear that Gibbs didn’t quite fit in. He failed his psyche eval, and that has left the director worried about the situation. Mike Franks may want to eat his words when it comes to Gibbs being perfect for the team.
Of course, we know how it all plays out. We know that Gibbs sticks with the team and ends up running is own, so there isn’t much weight in this story. It will still be fun to see a young Gibbs, though.
Gibbs has nothing to lose in NCIS: Origins season 1, episode 3
This series is set after the murders of Kelly and Shannon. They were his world, and we know Gibbs was lost after that. So, it’s not surprising in the promo to hear that he has nothing to lose. A man with nothing to lose is a dangerous one. He won’t think of all the consequences of his actions.
That seems the case in this episode as a murder by Camp Pendleton takes the team on a road trip to San Diego. While there, Gibbs decides to go his own way and figure out the situation by himself. The rest of the team will not be happy about this.
Meanwhile, Mike Franks will get an interesting visit. Jackson Gibbs is coming to see his son’s boss. We knew Jackson would be written into the story, but we also knew that Jackson and Gibbs couldn’t be on screen together considering the canon already set up. So, this is how the show will get around that.
Check out the promo and synopsis for NCIS: Origins season 1, episode 3:
"A murder near Camp Pendleton leads Gibbs and the team to a suburban mall in San Diego, where Gibbs takes matters into his own hands; Jackson Gibbs pays Franks an unexpected visit."
