Those who know Gibbs’s story will know that Mexico is important in the personal revenge storyline. Could NCIS: Origins season 1, episode 9 set up that story?

We know that Gibbs is still grieving hard. He’s struggling to move forward since the murders of his wife and daughter. This is something that haunts him for decades, but he does get a little bit of revenge eventually. We haven’t got to the revenge storyline, but we’re waiting for it. It has to be coming up soon, right?

The new episode could kick-start that storyline. After all, Mexico is an important location.

The team heads to Mexico in NCIS: Origins season 1, episode 9

NIS is heading to Tijuana, Mexico for the latest case. There’s a girl who is missing. She and some friends were heading to a club in Tijuana, and they didn’t all end up getting there. Of course, the show is likely to do down some sort of drug cartel or sex trafficking route. That’s the usual storyline for this type of set-up.

Gibbs will not leave until he gets the girl back. This is a man who is grieving the loss of his own daughter. He won’t want anyone else to go through something like that, especially not when there is a team there who can help get her back.

However, this is extra personal for Gibbs. We know in the man’s backstory from the original series that Gibbs got his revenge in Mexico. All we know is that he killed Pedro Hernandez, who was responsible for the deaths of Shannon and Kelly. Hernandez killed the agent assigned to protect them and it led to their car crashing, all because Shannon had witnessed a murder and was willing to testify.

Gibbs decided to take matters into his own hands. He was investigated by Lieutenant Lara Macy, but she closed her case after hearing about why Gibbs went after Hernandez.

All of this needs to play out, and why wouldn’t Gibbs stay in Mexico while he was there? Wouldn’t it make it a little easier for him? We don’t have an exact time frame of when Gibbs got his revenge from what I can remember, so now would be a great time. We could get the revenge storyline in the winter finale.
