After a beautiful tribute episode to Ducky (and David McCallum), we head into a new episode of NCIS: Origins. This episode will see the team work with the FBI, and you know how Mike Franks is going to take to that.
The latest episode already saw Franks a little bit off when it came to Ducky coming to observe. Part of him was worried about the hidden agenda, but he’s also struggling personally with everything involving his brother, Mason. In the end, Franks realized that Ducky is a good guy, and maybe there’s hope for Gary as well.
However, NCIS: Origins season 2 episode 4 is likely to see a gruff Franks again, as he ends up working with people he doesn’t want in his office.

The FBI is called in to help with the case in NCIS: Origins season 2 episode 4
The case itself is focused on the robbery of a Navy bank. Naturally, that makes it a case for NIS, but the FBI is sure to come in and try to take over. This could be a chance to bring back a younger Fornell, who we have already met in NCIS: Origins.
Even if it doesn’t bring Fornell in, there are going to be tensions. The promo makes it clear that the FBI brings in all their fancy gadgets, and they think that’s the way to solve the crime. Well, NIS is still working with some of their old-school ways, and this can often get things done. Randy may be on the side of the new technology, though, considering he was going to spend some extra time inputting documents into the computer for easier searching.

A couple of personal arcs in NCIS: Origins
We know that both Franks and Lala are struggling on personal levels, but they don’t want to open up to the rest of the team about them. Well, they may have to in NCIS: Origins season 2 episode 4.
The new episode will see Franks’s brother, Mason, show up. The man has hit rock bottom and needs Franks’s help, but this is already causing a problem for the esteemed leader. Franks believed his brother to be dead, after Mason was listed as MIA in the Vietnam War. There was a lot of guilt felt over that, as Mason enlisted so Franks didn’t have to go.
Yet, Franks has now learned that Mason is alive. Philip Winchester guest stars as the character, and it’s sure to create even more tension.
As for Lala, she needs to make a decision about her future. She told Ducky that things had changed in her brain since her TBI, and I’m so glad NCIS: Origins is focusing on this. Brain injuries can cause some rewiring, and while Lala’s heart hasn’t changed who she is, what she is interested in and what she wants to do with her life could be different.
