Since the end of NCIS: Origins season 1, there has been one major question. What happened to Lala? Will she live or die in the NCIS: Origins season 2 premiere?

There are plenty of debates and theories about how the second season will start. After all, we know that NCIS: Origins is Gibbs’s story about Lala. To write her out after just one season would see a little shortsighted, right?

We also know that Mariel Molino will return to the show, but we have no idea about the capacity of that return. Everyone is being cagey, which could hint that she is only in it for a few episodes.

“Bend, Don’t Break” – A murder near Camp Pendleton leads Gibbs and the team to a suburban mall in San Diego, where Gibbs takes matters into his own hands. NCIS: Origins season 2 will give us Lala answers right away

In some good news, we won’t have to wait too long for answers about Lala. The NCIS: Origins season 2 premiere synopsis is out, and it tells us that Lala’s fate will be revealed.

She ended season 1 in a Jeep that flipped over. It didn’t look good for her, especially with it being a quiet street in the dark. Of course, as people hear the crash, they’re sure to rush out and help, especially considering Lala crashed because she swerved out of the way of a little girl. Somebody is up in the neighborhood!

It is plausible that emergency services will get to her in time to save her. Of course, it’s possible that they get there, but that she needs surgery and she ends up dying on the table. The synopsis doesn’t spoil what happens to her, but at least, we’ll find out in the premiere episode.

Incognito
“Incognito” – Gibbs goes undercover for the first time with Lala as NIS works the case of a dead Navy seaman who may have been sharing top-secret intel that poses a threat to national security. Also, Lala struggles with her place on the team and an unexpected development in her personal life, on NCIS: ORIGINS, Monday, Nov. 11 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+

Mariel Molrino being in NCIS: Origins season 2 doesn’t confirm survival

Let’s be honest, though, just because we know that Molino has been on set and filmed some episodes doesn’t mean that she will be back in the series full-time. There are other ways to bring characters into the NCIS story, even ones that have died.

She could have come back to film some final scenes as she’s wheeled into surgery. Maybe there is a moment in the hospital with her, as various characters say goodbye.

The series could go the more supernatural route, which it has done in the past. Gibbs has seen the ghosts of those who have fallen before, specifically Mike Franks. So, why not Lala? Is this the way to keep her in the story and still make it about her despite her no longer being alive?

NCIS: Origins season 2 will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 9/8c on CBS.
