Now that Parker is safe and Carla has been handled, it’s time for NCIS to move on to a standard case of the week. Well, “standard” is subjective when it comes to NCIS season 23, episode 3.
We’re getting a slightly Halloween-themed episode to the season, but the main scare is going to be for Torres, as he has to deal with a familiar person from the past. Oh yes, Special Agent Sawyer is back, and we know how much these two (don’t) get along.
Sawyer is helping with the blackmail case in NCIS season 23, episode 3
The episode will see the team deal with a blackmail case. There’s a death in there as well, as a petty officer’s body turns up connected to the blackmail case.
We’re used to the episodes following the case from start to finish, and nothing seems to be jumping out about it right now. The unique take is on Sawyer returning, who we last saw in NCIS season 22, episode 15, and fans do have a mixed opinion about his character being in the show. Considering he makes things difficult for some members of the team, that’s not all too surprising by fan reactions.
Torres isn’t going to be happy about working with Sawyer during the case. After all, the two have a lot of history.
What happened to Sawyer the last time he was on NCIS?
We did see Sawyer demoted at the end of that episode, as he was moonlighting as private security for a wealthy family. It led to him intercepting a drug delivery, but Torres thought that he’d been dealing drugs, and he was more than happy to report him.
Despite the demotion, Sawyer ended up working well with Torres. The two had a great bond as they worked the case, but it seems like that’s not the way things are going to stay between them. Of course, there’s sure to be more of the hilarious back and forth between them as the new case unfolds.
The synopsis tells us that it’s a “terrifying” encounter with Sawyer for Torres. I’m not sure why that would be the case, unless I missed something within the series. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Maybe it’s got something to do with what Vance wanted to talk with McGee about at the end of NCIS season 23, episode 2. Did Vance decide to warn him about Sawyer?
