McGee and Torres need to work a case together, while Knight as an ELITE mission to tackle on the NCIS season 23 fall finale. Here’s everything you need to know before we get into the new episode.
Yes, this is the fall finale, and it’s coming a little later than we expected. CBS has opted to push as many shows into the last week before Christmas as possible, which is likely due to the fact that the shows won’t be back until February. It’s good news for those of us who are ready for another episode.

Did The Grinch steal Christmas on the NCIS season 23 fall finale?
The synopsis and promo tell us that someone has stolen a truck full of Christmas toys. Who would want to steal toys that are meant for impoverished children? Well, Jimmy debates on whether it could be The Grinch, because he is known for taking joy from others — although he gives it all back in the end.
McGee and Torres will need to work together to get the truck back. It does look like they’re in the location of the toy drive to start with, so it makes sense that they end up on the case. Is Torres going undercover as Santa to help figure out the case?

Knight gets her first ELITE mission
Meanwhile, we’ll finally get to see something come from Knight’s ELITE position. The mission involves a former member of the team, who Knight has to track down.
There are plenty of theories on who this team member could be, and this could finally be time for Emily Wickersham to return as Elle Bishop. The last we saw of Bishop, she had chosen to join Ziva’s former handler, taking on some much darker and dangerous missions. However, she would act outside of the law, and this could lead to her being on the radar of others.
Other former members of the team are Ziva and Tony — who have just enjoyed their own spinoff, so that doesn’t make sense for them to come back — and Abby. Pauley Perrette has made it clear that she isn’t interested in returning to NCIS, so it would be a surprise if she was back, even just for an episode. Of course, there’s Gibbs, but he’s up in Alaska, as we know from the NCIS: Origins crossover event with NCIS. Jack Sloan could be an option, but really, our thoughts are on Bishop at this point.
While all this is going on, Parker’s family mystery is finally solved. Jimmy learned that Parker’s mom wasn’t killed in the car accident, and instead, she was shot in the back of the head. Who murdered her, and why? And is this something this ghost of Lily is trying to tell him?
