There are certainly many people getting ready for the end of January. It’s when the CBS shows will make their returns, and when some new shows will premiere. NCIS: Sydney season 2 was meant to premiere on Friday, Jan. 31.
That is no longer happening. CBS has had to make a change to the schedule. It is disappointing news for NCIS: Sydney fans, but we do know when the series will now premiere, and there isn’t much longer of a wait.
Why is NCIS: Sydney season 2 pre-empted?
According to TVLine, CBS has opted to push the show back due to a special that will air on Friday, Jan. 31 instead. There are no details on the special, but many expect it to be linked to the wildfires currently devastating Los Angeles.
There is a special concert happening the day before across streaming networks. This could be adapted to air on broadcast the day after to help reach as many people as possible.
When will NCIS: Sydney season 2 premiere on CBS?
How long will we now need to wait for the second season to arrive? NCIS: Sydney will now premiere on Friday, Feb. 7.
It is only a week break. This is great news for fans. The show will air at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fridays, followed by Fire Country and SWAT.
Are Fire Country and SWAT affected by the special?
While NCIS: Sydney will be delayed, the same isn’t said for Fire Country and SWAT. These two shows will still return from their winter breaks on Friday, Jan. 31, with Fire Country airing after the special at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Fire Country mostly films in British Columbia, so it isn’t affected by the wildfires. SWAT did pause production temporarily, but has picked up filming again, with it happening indoors at the moment due to the air quality from the smoke.
NCIS: Sydney season 2 will now premiere on Friday, Feb. 7 at 8/7c on CBS.
