Is a new episode of Tracker on tonight? (Feb. 2, 2025)

We are all patiently waiting for Tracker season 2 to return. What's going on with the CBS schedule tonight, Sunday, Feb. 2?

“Ontological Shock” – When Colter suddenly disappears during his search for a missing father, Reenie recruits his brother, Russell (Jensen Ackles), for help, on the CBS Original series TRACKER, Sunday, Oct. 20 (8:30-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. More Tracker season 2 please! That’s all we want. The bad news is the wait for the show’s return.

Yes, new episodes of Tracker will arrive in February. The bad news is that it’s not quite just yet. We have to wait until after the Super Bowl. But there are reruns, right? Sadly, that’s not on the CBS schedule tonight, Sunday, Feb. 2.

What’s on the CBS schedule tonight?

Sunday night is usually all about the drama, but it’s all about the music tonight. Of course, that’s likely to bring some drama as well. Instead of Tracker, CBS will bring us the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.

This is standard for this time of year. As I’ve said in previous posts about this, this time of year means an inconsistent Sunday schedule. Between award shows and football, there isn’t much time for anything else. Rather than bring us an episode and then weeks off, CBS has opted to wait until February to bring the shows back.

When will Tracker return with new episodes?

There is some good news in that February is the return month. New Tracker will air on Sunday, Feb. 16. We’re almost there!

This is the night that the entire night of drama will return. Not only do we get Justin Hartley back on our screens, but we’ll also see Morris Chestnut and Queen Latifah with the returns of Watson and The Equalizer. It’s going to be a good night.

In some greater news, next week may be the Super Bowl, but it’s also a full night of Tracker reruns. Oh yes! While CBS knows that going up against the Super Bowl on FOX is a bad idea, it does want to offer you something to checkout. Tracker it is, and we’re not going to complain.

What to expect when Tracker season 2 returns

The series will put the focus on Colter’s white whale case. From the start of this season, we learned that he has always wondered what happened to Gina Picket. The fall finale saw him get a new lead, and now he’s chasing that up. He and retired cop Keaton will end up back together as they hunt down a serial killer.

We’re sure that the case won’t be solved in this new episode. What are the chances that Keaton will end up getting hurt, and Colter will need to continue the search into the season 2 finale?

Tracker returns on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8/7c on CBS.
