Is there a new episode of The Equalizer on CBS tonight? (May 11, 2025?)

As CBS continues with many of its shows tonight, the big question is all about The Equalizer.
“Justified” – When a note McCall receives leads her to the location of her late father’s car, she must revisit the past to uncover who was behind his carjacking and murder nearly 30 years prior, on the CBS Original series THE EQUALIZER, Sunday, May 14 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. After the actin packed episode last Sunday, we’re more than ready to see more of Queen Latifah in The Equalizer. There is some bad news when it comes to tonight, Sunday, May 11.

In fact, we have a lot of bad news about the series. It is one of the casualties of the 2024–2025 TV season.

There are SPOILERS for the previous episode of The Equalizer in this post.

There isn’t an episode of The Equalizer on tonight

Sadly, there will not be an episode tonight, Sunday, May 11. The season finale aired last week, and it was certainly an episode worthy of the title season finale.

We got some major moments for individual arcs. Harry and Mel had to have a discussion about whether they continue their work with Robyn, while Dante revealed that he was going to propose to Robyn, which she accepted once he did manage to do it. However, there was the problem of Salazar to deal with first.

So, with a season finale, it means a break. The bad new is that season finale became a series finale.

The Equalizer season 6 is not happening

CBS has decided to cancel the series after five seasons. This was despite negotiations to do a shortened sixth and final season. It looks like CBS just wasn’t quite there with the financials for the series to get that final part of the story. In some good news, the season finale does double well as a series finale, but we’d much rather see more of Robyn and Dante together.

There is even more bad news when it comes to the franchise as a whole. The backdoor pilot for the Titus Welliver series was not a success, with CBS passing on it just days after it aired. CBS will want to turn to other shows to see if there are franchise possibilities.

The Equalizer is available to stream on Netflix and Paramount+ if you want to catch up.
