Troian Bellisario trades her secrets for a cop uniform in On Call. This new cop drama coming to Prime Video is one to watch if you love the more “found footage” style of filming.
The 30-minute drama follows the lives of cops in LA. Everything is done through body cams, in-car cams, and cellphones for the most part. It gives more of a “found footage” style of filming, similar to The Rookie, which is great for those who want to feel like they’re more in the action.
Hailing from Wolf Entertainment, this is perfect for the crime drama fans out there. Take a look inside what to expect from the series as you get ready for the show’s premiere.
What is On Call about?
The new Prime Video series follows Traci Harmon, a hard-charging but protective officer who is given the task of training the next generation of police officers. Her rookie is Alex Diaz, an ambitious young man with a dark past and troublesome home life. He goes in with a lot of excitement and optimism, but soon realizes that things aren’t what he expected.
It doesn’t help that not everyone trusts the cops. Trying to get answers when all the cops want to do is keep the streets safe isn’t always that easy. It’s much harder when it comes to something personal.
It’s clear that not everyone trusts Harmon in the police force. There are rumors that she’s up to something within the department, and Diaz needs to decide whether he is with her or against her. He knows nothing about her, and yet, she seems to know everything about him.
Of course, this is a series from Wolf Entertainment, which should give you an idea of what to expect. There’s going to be a lot of action and realism within the dangers of police work. There is an entertainment element to it, but you’ll find yourself at the edge of your seat more than once. The promo makes it very clear that this is a highly intense series.
