Are you ready for another cop drama with a lot of action and tension? On Call is going to be the series for you. It premieres on Prime Video in January 2025, and you’ll want to check it out right away.
Of course, the first thing we look at when it comes to streaming shows is how the release is going to work. No streaming platform is the same, and then they’re not even consistent when it comes to their shows. Prime Video is one of the least consistent with some of the biggest shows surprisingly getting binge-watch releases, while others are released weekly.
How will On Call be released?
There is some good news for those whoa re ready to watch the Troian Bellisario series. On Call will premiere on Thursday, Jan. 9 with all eight episodes. This is a binge-watch release.
There is something to note about the episodes. While it’s a drama series, the episodes are only 30 minutes long. This arguably helps to keep the intensity within the episode as there isn’t as much time to tell the story. Something is constantly happening, as we figure out what’s really going on within the department.
What is On Call about?
The series follows Traci Harmon, a veteran police officer who has her own code to live by. She’s struggling to find her place within the department, with many people sharing that she can’t be trusted. When she ends up with a rookie straight out of the academy, she needs to find a way to teach him while keeping her baggage away from him—after all, he could be tainted because she’s the one training him and she doesn’t want that on his career.
As for Diaz, he’s an eager rookie who wants to prove himself. However, he soon learns that the job isn’t what he expected it to be. There’s a lot of danger and trouble out there on the Long Beach streets, and he needs to figure out how to survive. Like everyone else, he has secrets and a past, and they threaten to affect his work as a cop.
