It’s confirmed that not only is Only Murders in the Building coming back for a sixth year, but the Hulu comedy mystery is heading overseas!

After five seasons, Only Murders in the Building has become one of Hulu’s best-loved shows. The mystery-comedy centers on the strange friendship of washed-up actor Charles (Steve Martin), egotistical Broadway producer Oliver (Martin Short), and sardonic artist Mabel (Selena Gomez), who live in the Arconia apartment block in New York.
Each season has the trio stumbling into a murder case and creating a podcast of their investigation of it. They also have a fantastic bevy of guest stars that include Oscar winners Meryl Streep, Renee Zellweger, Christopher Waltz, and more.
Now, Deadline confirms that just hours after its fifth season finale, OMITB is being renewed for a sixth season. It likely won’t happen until 2026, but one thing that is for sure is that the next season takes our trio across the pond to London for more misadventures!
Where is Only Murders in the Building heading in season 6?
Caution for some spoilers: Only Murders in the Building season 5 ended with the trio discovering Mayor Tillman (Keenan Michael Key) was the one who killed beloved doorman Lester. It turns out Tillman was having an affair with Sofia (Tea Leoni), the wife of mobster Nicky (Bobby Cavanale). When Nicky found out, he cut off one of Tillman’s fingers, and in the struggle, Nicky ended up dead.
Lester stole the finger to flee with Tillman ending up killing him by accident. The billionaire trio of Jay Pflug, Camila White and Bash Steed (who had all witnessed this) agreed to cover it up in exchange for Tillman okaying their plans to buy the Arconia and turn it into a casino.
After escaping captivity, the trio revealed they’d recorded Tillman’s confession, leading to his arrest. Guilty over his actions, Jay confessed to the billionaire’s part in this, so they were arrested, meaning the Arconia was saved.
The finale ended with the trio listening to a podcast from their old frenemy, Cinda Canning (Tina Fey), who was in London looking into an old murder. A red-haired woman suddenly turned up dead after reaching the Arconia, just getting her hand into the gate, and the trio was stunned to realize it was Cinda.
So, Only Murders in the Building season 6 will have the trio heading to England to figure out what Cinda was up to, why she came to New York and who killed her. That has a lot of potential for new comedy and adventures, no doubt packed with a score of British actors as guest stars.
There’s some great comedy alone in Oliver getting involved with the London theater scene, while Charles likely has some experience with acting in the U.K. Mabel can also get into hijinks, and just seeing the trio about in London will be a riot.
It’s unclear if this would be the last season for the show, but the jump to another nation is likely going to make season 6 of Only Murders in the Building its biggest yet.
