Well, there’s a series reboot coming, bringing new faces to the neighborhood filled with dark secrets. There’s a murder to solve, but this one isn’t a recent murder. And so, we get a brilliant crime dramedy that is sure to entertain during the cold winter months.
The ‘Burbs arrives on Peacock in February
Peacock has set the date for its new show. The ‘Burbs will drop on Peacock on Sunday, Feb. 8. All eight episodes will drop at once, making for a great binge-watch.
This is around the time that broadcast shows are likely to go on a break. NBC’s shows are all going to be on a break due to the Winter Olympic coverage, and CBS isn’t bringing its primetime shows back until after the Winter Olympics. It leaves us with ABC and FOX with schedules that are likely to be interrupted.
So, it’s the perfect time to tune into a streaming show. With all eight episodes of The ‘Burbs dropping at once, there’s plenty to look forward to.
What is The ‘Burbs about?
Just like the 1989 horror comedy, a small suburban neighborhood is rocked when secrets of the past come to light. New neighbors move in, and they are more than interested in the stories of a death in an old abandoned house.
Keke Palmer and Jack Whitehall star as the young couple who reluctantly move into the neighborhood into the husband’s old childhood home. Of course, there are questions about the house that has been left to ruin, and that means an investigation.

The ‘Burbs cast
As mentioned, Keke Palmer and Jack Whitehall will star as the new couple in the neighborhood. They take on the roles that Carrie Fisher and Tom Hanks played in the original comedy, although the names are changing to Samira and Rob. We also know that Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch, and Kapil Talwalkar will take on series regular roles.
Palmer is also an EP on the series, along with Celeste Hughey (also the creator and writer), Rachel Shukert (also a writer), Seth MacFarlane, Erica Huggins, and Aimee Carlson.
