10 things we want to see in the Tony/Ziva NCIS spinoff
3. More Ziva-isms
This is a quirky one, but come on, who doesn’t want to hear Ziva once more unknowingly mangle some idioms? From “the world is my pearl” to “doggy dogg world,” it was always fun with Ziva not grasping how she was bungling a metaphor.
Tony would have fun with how she still does it after so long, and the idea that she just expands it in other countries is perfect for comedy. Ziva can even play on it by revealing that she knows the real idiom and just enjoys playing this game, but this classic character trait should be brought back.
2. Some past characters would be fun
Obviously, there's potential in some NCIS characters popping up, with Sean Murray telling TV Insider there's a chance for McGee to show up. But more interesting would be the show bringing in past characters.
Imagine them reaching out to the CIA and met by Bishop, whose clashes with Ziva would be interesting. Or even running into Abby on some quirky trip for her classic feelings toward the pair. Of course, there's one past face fans would be ecstatic to see pop up...
1. Bring in Gibbs!
Let’s face it, NCIS hasn’t been the same without Gibbs. Even as they’re planning a “young Gibbs” spinoff series, Mark Harmon should make some sort of cameo in this series. It’s a great setup as, on the run, Tony and Ziva call in the only person they can trust, with Gibbs showing up as the cavalry to help them out.
That they would go right back to treating him as the boss is logical, and the chemistry of the trio would still be terrific. A Gibbs appearance would be a wonderful way to make this spinoff shine more.
NCIS is available to stream on Paramount+.
