911: Lone Star could get a spin-off involving Carlos and his new partner
911: Lone Star is still the last, but there is a little hope for a continuation in the franchise. We could see a spin-off happening, and it will be all about Carlos.
We have to admit that Carlos is one of the most underused characters on the series. Most of his storylines have been linked to TK rather than getting something to do for himself, but that’s about to change. Carlos is going to be obsessed with getting to the bottom of his father’s murder, and that’s something that will come between Carlos and TK.
Carlos becomes a Texas Ranger in 911: Lone Star Season 5
Carlos is going on a bit of a career change in the fifth and final season of the series. After years as a police officer, he is jumping ship to the Texas Rangers. This is a chance to honor his father, while also figuring out who killed him.
He’ll be partnered with Campbell, who is played by Parker Young. According to TVLine, there is a push for a spin-off with the two of them. They have a brotherly sort of relationship from the start, which means they push each other’s buttons but also work together well.
It won’t be too surprising to find out that a spin-off hasn’t been ordered just yet. The series is coming to an end, and this concept hasn’t been tested on the show just yet. This final season is a chance to show that it will work.
Of course, we’d love to see Carlos move over to the flagship series if that’s the way to keep him, although that’s unlikely. It’s not that we don’t see TK moving to LA, but we don’t see Carlos leaving his widowed mom, especially once he (presumably) catches his dad’s killer.
911: Lone Star Season 5 premieres on Monday, Sept. 23 at 8/7c on Fox.
