Accused Season 2 isn't coming until the 2024–2025 season, but we have an exciting update

If there is one show we’ve wondered about, it’s Accused. Fox renewed the show for Season 2 in 2023, but then we got no news about it. Now we have an exciting update.

In some great news, Accused Season 2 is still happening. This hasn’t become a victim of the strike action. However, as we suspected when it was missing from the Fox 2023–2024 schedule, it is being delayed to the next season. That’s at the earliest.

TVLine shared an update about the anthology series. It will start filming in summer 2024.

There isn’t a confirmation on the episode count just yet. The first season had 15 episodes, and it is possible that we’ll get the same amount of episodes in Season 2. Delaying the show to the next TV season certainly allows for that to happen.

When to expect Accused Season 2

With filming starting in the summer, it is possible that Accused Season 2 will arrive in the fall 2024 season. This will depend on Fox’s decisions when it comes to show renewals and new show pickups. We know that 911 Lone Star Season 5 will arrive in the fall, skipping this TV season due to the strike action delays.

Fox could opt to keep this series as a midseason show. The linear ratings weren’t the strongest for a fall start during the first season, but they were pretty solid for a midseason start.

Accused may not work that well for a fall start. Fall shows end up with a midseason finale, with month or so off in December and into January. This usually means a huge cliffhanger to get people to tune in when the show returns. With this series being an anthology series, it’s harder to keep people as interested as a cliffhanger ending would.

So, I am of the opinion that Accused Season 2 will arrive in January 2025. We’ll know more when Fox announces its fall schedule in May.
