Accused Season 2 isn't coming to FOX in January 2024 (but do we have a date yet?)

There are a few shows that we’re excited to see return. Accused is definitely one of them. This anthology series really makes us think about our own bias as we watch the individual stories play out.

The bad news is we still have to wait for the second season. Accused Season 2 is happening, but it’s not on the list of January 2024 arrivals. That’s despite it being a January show last year.

It’s not that the show didn’t perform well. The delayed return is linked to the strike action throughout the summer. FOX isn’t bringing back the majority of its scripted content back until March 2024, and some shows are being delayed to the fall!

When could Accused Season 2 premiere on FOX?

While fellow sophomore show Alert: Missing Persons Unit has a March premiere date, Accused does not. There is nothing about this series right now. We did note that it was missing from the list of shows getting back into production in November and December, suggesting that we would need to wait longer for its return.

It’s not alone in not being back in production yet. 911: Lone Star Season 5 has been delayed to fall 2024 due to production delays. It is possible that Accused will also join 911: Lone Star, running the two shows back to back.

The good thing about Accused is that it’s an anthology series. We’re not waiting around for the return of the series to answer some cliffhangers. Each episode is a standalone story, so now our eyes are simply on the type of crime stories the writers want to tell us.

For the most part, the first season hit the mark in important stories. We got those about systemic racism, the issue with the medical system as well as the justice system, and bias going into cases. However, there were a couple of storylines that really didn’t need to be told—with so many people saying “she’s lying” when it comes to sexual assault and rape, we didn’t need a storyline of a girl lying about it. That is just continuing that narrative in our own world.

So, what will the storylines be? We’re excited to see them play out.
