For those who have missed it, Only Murders in the Building focuses on Broadway producer Oliver Putnam (Martin Short), has-been actor Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), and artist Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez), who live in the expansive Arconia apartment building in New York. Despite their various differences, the trio join together to investigate a murder and do a podcast about it.
Each season is filled with twists and turns alongside some wild comedy. Some will want to jump into it quickly and enjoy the turns as they come, but others may be the type who jump to the end of a book first. So here’s a quick rundown of each season of Only Murders in the Building and who did it.
Only Murders in the Building Season 1: Who killed Tim Kono?
The first season focused on the murder of Tim Kono, a resident of the Arconia whose death was initially ruled a suicide. The trio start their investigation with Mabel pushed as she and Tim had been friends.
At first, the trio thought Teddy and Theo Dimas were guilty of covering up Tim stumbling onto their own criminal schemes. There was also how Tim's girlfriend Zoe had died in mysterious circumstances. It turned out she'd been accidentally pushed off the roof by Theo during a fight.
Meanwhile, Charles was getting close to musician Jan (Amy Ryan). However, when Jan drugged him and tried to kill him, the trio found out she was the killer.
Jan and Tim had been romantically involved, but Jan mistakenly believed Tim was having an affair after finding a ring belonging to Zoe. She thus killed him and went to extremes to try and blow up the entire building before the gang stopped her.
That seemed the end of it, only for the season to end with Charles and Oliver finding Mabel standing over the body of building manager Bunny (Jayne Houdyshell), and all three were arrested.
