Based on a True Story Season 2 has a production update

Things have been very quiet about Kaley Cuoco's Based on a True Story. There's finally some good news about the Peacock series.

There are a few crime shows with a quirky feel to them that we can’t wait to see more from. Based on a True Story is certainly one of those shows. We now have an update on production.

This is a series that has been relatively quiet with updates. The last we heard was that it was renewed. Of course, like so many other shows in 2023, it was caught up in the strike action. That did lead to concerns that it would be cancel. Fear not, though!

Based on a True Story Season 2 production month confirmed

A fan of the series wrote into TVLine with the question, and Matt got the answer. He shared the great news that the show is still in the works. Production is set to start in May 2024!

We don’t have an exact date for it yet, but this is exciting. This is likely a later start than the series initially wanted, but there wasn’t much that it could do with the strike action. Plus, it’s not like this delay is huge. It seems like the series debuted earlier in 2023, but it was only in the summer with the renewal coming in October. A May production start isn’t that bad!

What to expect in Based on a True Story Season 2

The first season of the series taught fans that the shouldn’t try to game a serial killer. That serial killer is always going to turn the tables, and that’s exactly what Matt Pierce did. He knew what Ava and Nathan were up to, and he made sure to play them at their own game.

Things have become a lot more complicated, though. Ava learned that her sister, Tory, is sleeping with Matt. Now Ava needs to find a way to keep her sister safe without giving away Matt’s true identity. That is if Ava and Nathan can get away with everything they’ve been caught doing. Ruby’s husband walked in as they tried to get rid of Ruby’s body, and now he likely knows something but not the full truth.

This whole situation is far more complicated than ever before. Now we really can’t wait for Based on a True Story Season 2.
