With the final season of Blue Bloods starting, we’re ready to see which familiar faces of the past we’ll see. After all, there’s usually a couple, both favorites and not to favorites.

Jennifer Esposito’s Jackie Curatola was definitely a fan favorite. We got great news recently about her coming back for at least one episode, and now we get to see it all play out. We also get some details on what to expect in the new episode.

Blue Bloods 14x02 promo

While the show could have put the focus on Jackie being back in the promo, it didn’t. Instead, the focus is on the disagreements between Frank and Mayor Chase. Is this shortsighted considering the storyline a lot of people are looking forward to? Maybe.

The promo isn't yet available online but was shown at the end of the previous episode on TV.

Blue Bloods 14x02 synopsis

The synopsis tells us a little about a few individual storylines. The first is about Danny and Baez. They’re the ones Jackie will team up with, which makes sense considering Jackie was Danny’s former partner. A serial killer reappears. It’s not clear yet if this serial killer is from before the series ever started or someone from a past case.

Meanwhile, Jamie is going to clash with his nephew Joe Hill. Yes, Will Hochman is back for the episode, too. Jamie’s undercover operation is a dangerous one, and Joe is about to interfere with it. Never interfere with an undercover op! Is this going to end badly for Jamie?

As all that happens, Eddie is going to get her own storyline. A woman accuses a sergeant of rape. A lot of the time, we’d see cops stand on the blue line. That’s not going to be the case for Eddie, and it’s going to lead to some backlash. The important thing for cops is to do the right thing. Someone can’t be protected just because of their job.

Finally, Mayor Chase is causing more problems. He decides to bring back a Commission of Police. That’s not something he runs by Frank first. You would have thought these two would have learned how to work together by now, wouldn’t you?
