Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 3 will pay tribute to Treat Williams
When it comes to the death of an actor, we tend to see tributes paid. A lot of the time, this is through a dedication card at the end of episodes. However, it looks like Blue Bloods is going the route that NCIS took with the tribute to David McCallum.
Treat Williams passed away in June last year in a motorcycle accident. With the strike action and the delays, this is the first chance that the series has had a chance to honor Williams’s memory.
For those who need a quick refresher, Williams played Lenny Ross, who was not just a former colleague of Frank Reagan but also a lifelong friend. The last we saw of Lenny was him telling Frank that he had cancer, and that was linked to his time in New York on 9/11.
How will Blue Bloods honor Treat Williams?
Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 3 will be a tribute episode for Treat Williams. We know from the synopsis that Frank will learn of the death of Lenny. It’s not clear exactly what’s happened, but we can guess that it’s linked to the cancer storyline. There may have initially been a plan to see Lenny fight cancer, but it makes sense now to write Lenny’s death in from this.
However, it’s not just about Frank learning about Lenny’s death. We’ll get to see Lenny’s daughter Tess, played by Simone Policano, again. She ends up in jail, and now Frank will need to figure out how best to help her. After all, that’s what Lenny would want him to do. “Help” doesn’t necessarily mean get her out of jail, though, as Frank will also want to honor what he stands for as a cop.
"Frank grapples with the personal loss of his best friend and how best to help Tess Ross (Simone Policano), the daughter of his best friend, when she lands in jail. Also, Jaime and his nephew, Joe Hill (Will Hochman), race against the clock to reunite a trafficking victim with her sister; and Danny and Erin clash when she goes behind Danny’s back to use his criminal informant in an investigation"
Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 3 airs on Friday, March 1 at 10/9c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
