Now, we are more than ready to see Blue Bloods Season 14 to premiere. It’s been a long summer and fall without the show, but there continues to be a little bit of bad news. This is not a show premiering in January 2024.
Yes, January is usually the time of year for shows to return after winter break. While NBC is bringing shows back this month, CBS and other networks are not. There are a few reasons for this, but the biggest one is due to the development of episodes. Production didn’t start until after Thanksgiving for the network shows.
In some great news, we do know when Blue Bloods will return. Of course, there has been some bad news about the show since the premiere date.
When will Blue Bloods Season 14 premiere on CBS?
The series will return after the Super Bowl. This makes sense to avoid the pre-empting of the Sunday shows, especially when January sees a lot of Sunday shows pushed week after week due to playoff games. So, we’ll see the shows kick off after the Super Bowl this year.
Blue Bloods Season 14 will premiere on Friday, Feb. 16. It will air at the usual time of 10 p.m. ET/PT, following SWAT and Fire Country. Episodes will air the following day on Paramount+.
Now for the bad news. This is the beginning of the end. CBS has confirmed that Season 14 will be the last, and it will be split in two parts. We’ll get 10 episodes running from February to May. The remaining eight episodes of the season will premiere in fall 2024 and run to the end of the year. This makes sure the writers have time to give the Reagan family the send off it deserves.
Blue Bloods Season 14 premieres on Friday, Feb. 16 at 10/9c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
