CBS sets SWAT finale date (When will we say goodbye?)

SWAT is coming to an end with the current season. What date will we say goodbye to Hondo and the rest of 20 David?

SWAT is still officially coming to an end with the current season. Now we know when we’ll say goodbye with the SWAT series finale date.

CBS has set the dates for finales this May. In some semi-good news, SWAT is wrapping around the usual time that we see broadcast shows end. Set the date for Friday, May 17.

The episode will air at the usual time of 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. It will be followed by the Fire Country Season 2 finale and the Blue Bloods Season 14A finale.

What to expect in the SWAT series finale

It’s hard to say what will definitely happen in the finale since we’re nowhere close to getting the synopsis. However, there are a few things that we could roughly expect based on the fact that it is the series finale.

One thing we want to see is where all the characters could move onto at the end. I could see Deacon definitely retiring considering recent conversations. While he decided not to retire just yet because of Luca’s injury forcing retirement on him, I could see him eventually getting that option and feeling good about it.

If he doesn’t retire, I could see Hicks retiring and Deacon stepping into that role. This would give Deacon a little more of a stable schedule compared to what he has now, which would help Annie.

What about Hondo? I don’t think he’s one to retire. I could see him being a lot like Luca said he thought he would need to be and forced out. While Hondo shared that his perspectives had changed after the birth of Vivianne, that doesn’t mean his drive for taking down the bad guys has come to an end.

As for Tan? Well, maybe he could be on the way to have a team of his own. Or maybe we’ll just see him and Powell continuing their lives with SWAT the way they are right now. After all, the end of the show doesn’t mean everyone needs to move onto new things.

Will there be more breaks in the schedule?

One of the concerns for fans is another break coming up in the schedule. We have some good news.

There are 13 episodes to the season, and we’ve just watched Episode 7. With the way the weeks are set up now, there won’t be the need for a break in the SWAT schedule. So, get ready for the rest of April and May with back-to-back episodes of 20 David in action.
