It’s time for some more Atwater in Chicago PD. He gets to take the lead in Chicago PD Season 11, Episode 5.

Now there is a small word of warning. This episode won’t air this week. The show is taking a week off and we’ll get new episodes on Wednesday, Feb. 21. This is the case for the entire One Chicago line-up. Law & Order Thursday is also taking a night off from new episodes.

That doesn’t stop us from getting ready for the new episode when it airs. So, what can we expect in Atwater’s case?

The promo gives us a look at the case for the night. After a string of jewelry store robberies, it looks like there’s finally a witness. However, that witness says she didn’t see anything. She couldn’t identify one of the robbers.

CCTV footage shows that she did see one of them. So, this woman lied to Atwater.

Did she, though? We know that witness testimony is unreliable. The mind works in mysterious ways, and there are things from the moment that the brain causes us to forget. So, is she lying, or did she just not remember something in the moment?

The synopsis tells us that this is just one attack in a string of robberies. It looks like Intelligence finally has a lead, but that lead isn’t making things easy.

For some reason, Atwater loses his confidence. Is that really because a witness, who may be an accomplice, has lied? That seems a little odd. They all have witnesses that lie to them when they’re trying to hide their involvement. So, what’s really going on with Atwater in this episode?
