Could we see the Stris wedding on SWAT Season 8?

During SWAT Season 7, Stris fans got a great update. Street said that he would invite Tan over for an engagement party. He said not to tell anyone, including Chris, but it was clear that their relationship was doing well.

That was for what was going to be the final season at the time. It’s clear that it was thrown in to make sure Stris fans got an update after waiting so long for the two to get together. With SWAT Season 8 on the way, fans want to know if there will be more to this. Will we get to see a Stris wedding?

Lina Esco and Alex Russell are not coming back to SWAT

Firstly, there is some bad news. Lina Esco left the series after five seasons. While we’ve had some updates about her character via Street, it has been clear that there are no plans to bring her back.

Alex Russell was only in one episode of what was going to be the final season—much to fans’ disappointment and anger. He isn’t set to return to the story on camera, but there is a chance that he’ll return behind the scenes. Of course, it could mean an on-screen appearance if the stars align. Let’s not rule it out just yet.

Showrunner Andrew Dettman has said that he would love for the Stris wedding to happen, though. The two characters are still part of the SWAT family.

The Stris wedding won’t happy off-screen on SWAT

In some great news, Dettman confirmed with TVLine that if a wedding does happen, it will be on-screen. This is not something that will happen off-screen for fans to learn about later. That would be torture to fans, and Dettman gets it.

One thing that Dettman says is that the door is open for characters to return. If both Esco and Russell can make their schedules work, maybe a wedding could happen in SWAT Season 8.
