If you’ve got time to yourself this Christmas Day, you’re certainly going to want to spend it wisely. The good news is there are some great crime dramas out there to check out.

We have something for all interests. There’s a dystopian future that starts with a murder and a supernatural mystery series. And yes, we have some period dramas and traditional procedurals as well.

5. Snowpiercer

Let’s start with the dystopian series. After all, it’s supposed to be cold right now—I say supposed to, because it definitely isn’t where I am! Snowpiercer is set in a future where the Earth is too cold to live. The only way to keep warm is to keep moving, and that’s on a large train.

What happens when there’s a murder on that train? All the older jobs are no longer all that relevant, but there is a detective. He just happens to be at the very back of the train. He is one of the Tailies, and he has a chance to make some changes to the way the train runs.
