Just when you think you have a grasp on everything going on in Criminal Minds: Evolution, there’s another twist. That shouldn’t be surprising with two more episodes after this. However, the twist is going to have some serious consequences for all.

Caution: This post contains major spoilers for Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 2, Episode 8.

In a surprise twist, we found out that Dr. Jill Gideon was the one to leak the white paper. Well, she used it with a private team in the hope that she could prevent serial killers from being created. Stuart House was the first of the programs, but it all went wrong. Someone in the program had the idea of turning the kids into serial killers.

Damien was known as GS-1 while Jade was known as GS-5. GS? Gold Star, duh!

Someone convinced Damien that he was saving children by killing people. With Damien and Jade going after all of those who were involved in the creation of Stuart House, the BAU realized that Jill was the next intended victim. She was the only one left.

Jill tries to help Damien in Criminal Minds: Evolution

Jill makes a move on Rossi as they go through all the paperwork. That’s her way of making him uncomfortable so that he will leave her alone. She has a plan.

Knowing that Damien is coming after her, she decides to use herself as bate. She wants to take him to a boy who needs to be saved, and she leads him to Jason Gideon’s cabin, a place that she says she hasn’t been to since Gideon’s death but that her son Steven wants to do up.

Damien is angry that he has been lied to, until Jill tells him that the boy she wants him to save is himself. She makes it clear that the person who brainwashed him had lied to him. However, there is some hope if he can save the little boy inside of him. Damien is heartbroken that he has been lied to, and in the end, he decides not to kill Jill and turn himself in.

Well, that’s what it looks like. As he walks out of the house, he closes one hand into a fist. We knew immediately what that meant based on an earlier part of the episode. Jade was in the woods with a rifle. The fist meant to shoot, and that’s what she did. Only, she didn’t shoot Jill or other cops. She shot Damien in a shocking twist.

Jade managed to get away thanks to setting up a machine gun on a device to spray fire, forcing everyone to take cover.

What does this mean for the BAU? What will this do to Jill knowing that she failed to keep Damien alive? What will Jade do next after making this choice? There are just two episodes left, and it’s clear nobody is going to be safe now.
