Don't expect Sophia Bush to return in Chicago PD Season 12

There is no doubt that many of us miss Erin Lindsay in Chicago PD. The bad news is we’re just going to have to keep missing her. Something major would have to change for Sophia Bush to return.

Bush was one of the OG cast members of Chicago PD. After four seasons, she made the choice to leave the series, but it wasn’t under the most positive of circumstances. And it’s the negative circumstances that lead to us believing that the actress is not going to return to the series.

Why Sophia Bush won’t return to Chicago PD in Season 12

For one, there isn’t actually a need for Erin Lindsay to return to the series. The last we saw, she got an offer to work elsewhere and she ended up taking it. While fans would love to see her come back, even just for a quick hello, there just isn’t the need. When writers bring back characters, it has to mean something, such as when Olinsky returned for Voight in the Chicago PD Season 11 finale.

Even if the writers formed a storyline, it wouldn’t bring Bush back. She left claiming “abusive behavior,” something that she continues to speak out about. There are plenty of people who don’t believe her, but that’s just the problem with society, and it’s the reason Bush continues to speak out about it. Until things change, she won’t step back on the set.

Despite one person mainly being the problem on the set, Bush shares that other men involved in the show didn’t step up for her when she needed it. So, everyone is to blame as it becomes the culture, and it’s time for people to be accountable for the things they did toward her or failed to do to change the culture.

Bush is now off doing her own thing, including a podcast with her fellow One Tree Hill alum. She doesn’t need to come back to Chicago PD. There are other ways to give us updates about Lindsay if the show wanted to.
