Eyes are most definitely on the Tony and Ziva NCIS spin-off. The series finally has a name, and we have a few details on what to expect in the series.

The name isn’t all that creative, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. After all, NCIS isn’t known for its creative titles, putting the focus on the location of the team. This time, the emphasis is on the two stars of the series.

NCIS: Tony and Ziva is the name. Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly shared the title in a social media video, while also sharing some of the other names that were discussed. We know NCIS: Europe was a title given at first, but that was just a title to give the show while sharing it would happen. Then NCIS: Trust No One was suggested.

Why NCIS: Tony and Ziva makes the most sense

If you have a title like NCIS: Europe or NCIS: Trust No One, the show would then have to remind people that this is the Tony and Ziva spin-off that we have called for over the last few years. By opting for NCIS: Tony and Ziva, as the stars say, this makes it clear that it is about these two characters. They are the main focus, and they will work together to solve crimes.

The best thing is that Tony and Ziva are together. Ziva had faked her death and turned up years later to help save Gibbs. Gibbs finally encouraged her to go back to her daughter and Tony, who had moved to Paris to be with his daughter that he had no idea about at first. We got hints that the two were together, and we were ready to see what their lives were like.

How many episodes are in the Tony and Ziva NCIS spin-off series?

There will be 10 episodes to the season, according to Deadline. This is not a series that is going to air on CBS, though. It’s a Paramount+ series.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that it will never get a spot in the CBS schedule. The fall and spring schedules are packed, but if CBS needs something for the summer months, this series would be an option. NCIS: Sydney was originally only going to be on Paramount+, and then due to the strike action last summer, it got a linear run. The second season is also set to get a linear run due to the show’s success.

Filming for NCIS: Tony and Ziva takes place in the summer

Weatherly and de Pablo shared that filming for NCIS: Tony and Ziva is set to happen this summer. This is a Europe-based series, with filming taking place in Budapest at first. There are likely locations all over Europe, as the season will focus on the two being on the run for some reason.

With a summer filming schedule, it does open the door for a late 2024 release. We may need to wait until early 2025, though. We’re sure this series will be worth the wait.

As of right now, it looks like it’s going to be Tony and Ziva and not their daughter on the run. Who is looking after her? We’ll need to wait and see. There is hope for some guest stars from NCIS. After all, Rocky Carroll has already said that he is interested if the storylines allow.
