Why FBI: Most Wanted isn't including Roxy Sternberg's pregnancy in the show

Roxy Sternberg is pregnant in real life, but don't expect to see Agent Barnes get a pregnancy storyline in FBI: Most Wanted Season 5.

When actresses get pregnant, TV shows have two choices: They can write the pregnancy into the story, or they can hide it. FBI: Most Wanted is going to hide Roxy Sternberg’s pregnancy instead of writing it in.

This decision likely isn’t surprising. It’s not the first time the actress has been pregnant while filming the series. There were a few episodes in FBI: Most Wanted Season 3 where Sternberg’s character was missing in action. Rather than write her pregnancy in, the series opted to have Barnes leave after Jess’s death to take some time to grieve. She returned in Season 4 as Remy fully took over the team.

According to CinemaBlend, Sternberg has confirmed that Barnes isn’t going to end up pregnant. Instead, the show is opting to hide her pregnancy again, and that is starting to become a little harder.

It doesn’t make sense for Barnes to be pregnant considering the character development the show has already had for her. She wasn’t looking to be the one to carry her and Charlotte’s potential future children, and Barnes and Charlotte are currently struggling in their marriage. A shock pregnancy storyline would definitely jump the shark.

Will Barnes be MIA in FBI: Most Wanted Season 5?

Now fans want to know whether we’ll lose Barnes for a few episodes at the end of the season. It doesn’t sound like we will. In an interview with TheWrap, Sternberg shared that she was working close to her due date, which is May 27.

Filming is set to wrap on May 12. That only leaves a couple of weeks before the due date, and Sternberg did joke that there could be a delivery on set. However, it does make it sound like the plan is for Barnes to be around for the whole season.

We may end up seeing her not around for the first half of FBI: Most Wanted Season 6. That’s not confirmed just yet, but we’re certainly expecting to see the show renewed, along with the rest of FBI Tuesdays.
