The team has a case involving AI in FBI: Most Wanted Season 5, Episode 3. This is not an episode you’ll want to skip.
The Fugitive Task Force has some interesting cases now and then. The show is not afraid to touch on current subjects, including the growing issue of incels and how technology is making crimes somewhat easier but also harder to track.
Now it’s all about AI. Many of us have Amazon Alexas or Google Homes in our houses. Could they actually be more of a danger to us than we would initially think?
FBI: Most Wanted 5x03 promo
The promo gives us a small look at the case at hand. The team is called into a murder, and the only witness is a virtual girlfriend. No, not a long-distance girlfriend who watched it all happen online. An actual virtual AI girlfriend.
I suddenly feel like I’m going to enter into that Reid Scott episode of American Horror Stories. Is it possible that the AI is creating a problematic situation? Is it death by AI?
FBI: Most Wanted 5x03 synopsis
The synopsis tells us a little more. It turns out that the murder victim is the woman who is the image of the virtual girlfriend. Wait, what? Did someone believe they were actually with this woman and kill her when she rejected their real life advances? I wouldn’t put it past men to do that.
The team will need to find out who lured this woman to the hotel room in Brooklyn. Then they will need to figure out why she was killed.
As all that happens, Hana is the one with the personal storyline. She will help out a Quantico graduate who is interested in Hana’s career. This girl wants to follow what Hana did. Could this be a chance to delve more into Hana’s extracurricular activities in taking down bad people online without the team?
"When the woman whose visage is the face of a popular AI bot is found violently murdered inside a Brooklyn hotel room, the Fugitive Task Force jumps into action to find out who lured her there in the first place. Meanwhile, Hana helps out a recent Quantico graduate who hopes to follow in her footsteps."
