Sadly, not everyone is making it back for FBI Season 7. We’ll lose a cast member during the season just as a new series regular joins.
After announcing that Lisette Olivera would join the series, TVLine confirmed that Katherine Renee Kane will leave. There is some good news for those who would like to see a little bit of her before the her time on the show comes to an end.
Katherine Renee Kane will leave FBI during Season 7
Kane came into the series in the third season, after the sudden exit of Ebonée Noel as Kristen Chazal. Kane has played Tiffany Wallace since then, and had the chance to show a different type of female agent and a different way of handling situations in the field.
Throughout Season 6, Tiffany dealt with grief and guilt after the death of Agent Hobbs, an agent Tiffany had worked undercover with. Tiffany promised the Hobbs family justice, which justice was delivered in the Season 6 finale. Tiffany found the terrorist, Hakim Siran, and killed him. There was a check on whether Hakim had a gun at the time of the shooting so that Tiffany could claim self-defense.
We know that Kane will be in at least one episode of FBI Season 7. This will allow for the series to set up an exit storyline for her, rather than do the usual Dick Wolf thing of mentions of where characters have gone after the fact. There are times that shows don’t even mention where characters have gone, such as the exit of Officer Rojas in Chicago PD!
It’s possible that Tiffany’s exit will be due to the shooting in the Season 6 finale. Olivera is coming into the series as a Behavior Analyst Unit agent, and it could be possible that she is initially there to assess whether Tiffany is good to continue in her duties or not.
FBI Season 7 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 8/7c on CBS.
