Maya watched her husband murdered in front of her, but then she sees him on her nanny cam. How is that possible? That’s the basic premise of Fool Me Once on Netflix.

The start of 2024 brings a new thriller to Netflix. It’s based on the Harlan Coben novel of the same name, and if you love the likes of The Stranger, you will not want to miss this release. All the episodes are available to binge right now.

One of the best things about these adaptations is that they’re created as limited series. There’s no need to worry about a cliffhanger ending. All the answers will be revealed at the end.

Now you just need to know what the storyline is. What is this mystery that we’ll spend the series figuring out? Here’s all you need to know.

Fool Me Once synopsis

Fool Me Once follows Maya, an ex-soldier who witnesses her husband being murdered. He is dead in front of her. She sees it with her own eyes.

Of course, in her grief, she starts to see him everywhere. These are just hallucinations. At least, that’s what she thinks they are. What happens when they’re not hallucinations? What happens when she sees her husband on her nanny cam one day? How can a dead man be on a camera that was bought after his death?

Maya needs to figure it all out. She heads on a journey of answers while everyone around her thinks that she’s going crazy in her grief. Does her mother-in-law hold the key to all the answers? Is her husband still alive, and if he is, why did he fake his death?

Meanwhile, the cops work on finding out who killed Maya’s husband. What happens when they realize that maybe Maya is onto something?

Fool Me Once is now available to stream on Netflix.
