Put together great actors, hilarious plot lines, and excellent writing, and you get a series like The Gentlemen. There was nobody but Guy Ritchie who could put something like this together, and the Netflix series is far better than the movie that created the universe.

The series follows Eddie Horniman, who inherits his father’s title and estate. This is to the surprise of his older brother, Freddy, who is supposed to be the heir. In fact, Freddy was expecting to get the title and money. He needed them because of his debts.

And so, it starts a ludicrous and hilarious series. Eddie spends most of his time trying to get his brother out of sticky situations, while also trying to break his family home away from a deal his father once made.

The Gentlemen needs a second season

When you get to the end, you’ll realize one thing. There needs to be a second season of this Netflix series. It seems crazy that Netflix hasn’t already renewed it. The series has been at the top of its own streaming charts for the entire week, and it has received positive critical and audience reviews.

It’s a no brainer, isn’t it? Well, this is Netflix.

The season finale ended with a major cliffhanger. No spoilers, don’t worry about that! All we’re saying is that this show has been left wide open for it to continue.

Guy Ritchie wants more of The Gentlemen

Of course, for the story to continue, there needs to be a story. This is where there is more good news. Guy Ritchie has ideas, according to Hello!. This is a series that he can see continuing on for some time. All he needs is Netflix to give the green light.

Considering the fun the cast likely had with this series, there probably won’t be any issue with getting them to come back. Plus contracts!

Even better news is that Head of Worldwide Television, Mirmax, Marc Helwig has confirmed that they are currently talking to Ritchie and the writers about what could happen in the second season. While Netflix is streaming the series, it is a Miramax produced show, so the production company also needs to be on board with the idea.

The actors haven’t yet been pulled into discussions. At least, Daniel Ings, who plays Freddy, hasn’t been involved. That doesn’t bother him as he wanted to see how the audience reacted before hoping for more to the story. However, should there be more, he would love to see the power struggle between Freddy and Susie for Eddie’s soul.

We would certainly love more of this crime comedy series. When will Netflix renew it?
