Castle

This ABC hit, Castle, lasted eight seasons and only ended with one lead left, and the network realized trying to continue without the main pairing was futile. Nathan Fillion is the title role of Rick Castle, a mystery writer searching for a muse. He finds it when Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) needs his help on a case. The two are soon working on mysteries, with Castle basing a character on Kate.

The banter between the two is a delight with the equally fun mysteries. It gets better when they finally become a couple in Season 5, giving their partnership a terrific new lively vibe. While its ending was a bit sudden, the eight-season run remains a great watch to see them fall in love and marry while still keeping to their mutual love of mysteries.

Bones

Running an astounding 12 seasons on FOX, Bones looked like a typical procedural. Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) is a forensic anthropologist who, with her team, tackles mysteries for FBI agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). The mix of Bones' pop-culture illiterate scientist and Booth's laid-back agent made for great fun amid some very unique cases.

The obvious romance between the pair, including having a child, was key, but also the good romance of techies Angela and Hodgins to spark things, among others. The personal drama adds more to the inventive cases, so it is little wonder it was loved for so long and a good binge for crime fans.
