There is always one question when it comes to a main character leaving a series. Will they be killed off? That’s a concern a lot of fans have when it comes to Tracy Spiridakos leaving Chicago PD after Season 11.

The start of Chicago PD Season 11 was about personal growth. She signed divorce papers and sent them to Jay Halstead. It’s clear that he has chosen his own career path back with the military, and she is going to move on.

She has also continued to focus on her work. It does look like the show is opening up to a potential replacement for Upton, but that doesn’t stop us worrying about how Upton is going to be written out of the series.

Jason Beghe hopes Upton isn’t killed off in Chicago PD Season 11

Of course, nobody is going to tell us a straight yes or no answer when it comes to our questions. That wouldn’t make for good buildup with the exit, would it? We can’t have too many spoilers.

However, Beghe told TV Insider that he hopes Upton isn’t killed off. He wants to see Upton have the opportunity to return.

This doesn’t mean that she will or won’t be killed, though. Beghe, who plays Voight on the series, is the only one speaking about the finale at the moment. Even Spiridakos hasn’t shared much about her upcoming exit since initially announcing that she would leave the show.

She is sharing some fond memories of the series on social media, which don’t tell us much about upcoming storylines. After all, just leaving the series can be bittersweet for actors and some do want to share the fond moments they’ve had over the years, even if the door is open for her character to return.

Beghe believes that Upton will leave on “good terms.” It certainly seems to be the way the writing is going right now, and it does seem like Petrovic is the one who may come in to replace Upton in the team in Chicago PD Season 12. We’ll have to wait for the finale in May.
