Law & Order has a new episode that promises to put the ADAs in a tough spot of whether to give a criminal a deal to crack another crime. Get the details for Law & Order Season 23, Episode 4.

Law & Order fans are still reeling from the news that Sam Waterston will be leaving his role as Jack McCoy very soon. Tony Goldwyn (Scandal) will be taking over as the new ADA.

Just how McCoy will be written out in the Thursday, Feb. 22 episode is up in the air, so it’s possible this upcoming Law & Order episode might start setting up his departure. However, before that happens, the cops and ADA have another tough case ahead in Season 23 Episode 4.

What to expect in Law & Order Season 23, Episode 4

“Unintended Consequences” has the cops investigating the murder of a real estate agent. The good news is that they find a witness who can testify to the killing. The bad news is that he’s involved in child pornography and will only testify if they drop those charges.

So now, Price has the tough call of letting a guy skate on a very nasty crime just to get a killer.

"Shaw and Riley investigate the murder of a real estate agent. After speaking with prominent clients an unexpected witness appears leaving Price and Maroun to convince the jury of motive while facing a difficult decision about their witness."

It looks to be a more dramatic case, with Price facing the moral issue of letting someone who trafficked in child pornography go in order to convict a killer. Maroun doesn’t look too happy about him, even considering this, and that conflict can play into the case.

With this being one of the last episodes before Waterston’s departure, it may be a more intriguing Law & Order story to hook fans for this week.

Law & Order Season 23 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC and streams the following day on Peacock
