Has the M&A Team put Gabi on a pedestal in Found?

Many members of the M&A team were shocked to learn that Gabi had captured and held Sir in her basement in Found. Have they put her on too much of a pedestal?

The M&A team got a shock at the end of Found Season 1. With Sir on the loose, Gabi had no choice but to tell the team the secret she had been keeping. Only Dhan knew the truth up to this point, and it led to many members of the team not wanting to speak to Gabi.

Gabi certainly did the wrong thing. There is no doubt about that. While it helped her find multiple missing people, the wrong thing done for the right reason is still the wrong thing.

However, it’s clear that the M&A team members have put Gabi on a pedestal. This could be a good thing for them to realize that she is still human, and that means she makes bad choices.

Gabi is not just their savior in Found

Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll told TV Guide that the team is certainly guilty of hero worship when it comes to Gabi. Gabi came to them at the lowest points of their lives. She helped to give them strength and inspiration to turn their trauma into something good.

With Lacey, it goes one step further. Gabi physically saved Lacey from Sir when they were just children. Lacey only felt safe because she could trust Gabi, and she regularly turned to her for comfort and advice. She continually opened up to Gabi about her fears of Sir coming back, and Gabi could have told her that she knew exactly where Sir was.

The team were shattered to learn the truth about Gabi and Sir. It’s a betrayal that hits deep, but everyone needs to remember that Gabi is dealing with her own trauma and issues. She was one of the missing as well, and that has left a mark. She was taken for a year with no means to escape. Of course she’s going to make some bad decisions.
