Blue Bloods fans are eager to see the beloved drama return. But if you need a fix for Tom Selleck, there’s a new spot to check out his popular Jesse Stone movies!

Most will automatically associate Tom Sellek with his breakout role in the 1980s show Magnum PI. That led to a good film career of success with Selleck then returning to TV in a big way, starring as Frank Reagan on Blue Bloods. Between those roles, Selleck is a TV icon and loved by millions.

But one of Selleck’s more notable roles was in the Jesse Stone films. The series is based on the novels by acclaimed crime novelist Robert B. Parker, who completed nine books before his death in 2010. A variety of authors have kept writing new Stone novels since.

A former LAPD homicide detective, Jesse Stone was fired from the force for his drinking problem, leading to his divorce. He’s hired as the police chief for the small town of Paradise, Massachusetts, as the town council figures he’ll be easy to control.

Stone is abrasive, still drinking and his only companion is his dog. But despite his demons and conflicts, Stone is good at his job, and when a dark murder occurs, he’ll go to whatever lengths to solve it and doesn’t mind bending a few rules to do it.

Selleck would keep up with some movies even after Blue Bloods began, with the last one airing in 2015. So where can you see them now?

Where you can stream the Jesse Stone movies today

For a while, Prime Video was the best place to find the Jesse Stone movies. The first eight aired on CBS, while the ninth one was made by the Hallmark Channel. Now, the free streamer Tubi has added all nine films, making for a good watch.

  • Jesse Stone: Stone Cold (2005)
  • Jesse Stone: Night Passage (2006)
  • Jesse Stone: Death in Paradise (2006)
  • Jesse Stone: Sea Change (2007)
  • Jesse Stone: Thin Ice (2009)
  • Jesse Stone: No Remorse (2010)
  • Jesse Stone: Innocents Lost (2011)
  • Jesse Stone: Benefit of the Doubt (2012)
  • Jesse Stone: Lost in Paradise (2015)

The movies are a mix of directly adapting some of Parker’s novels while others are only inspired by them. Notable, Night Passage is a prequel showing how Stone came to Paradise and his first case there.

Can there be more Jesse Stone movies?

The last film was in 2015, as Selleck has been busy with Blue Bloods. However, the actor spoke in a 2022 interview with Parade on how he’d enjoy continuing the series and even an idea for one of Stone facing retirement. He’d also love to use the freedom of streaming to show the darker sides of the character.

"“I’ve always felt Jesse suffers a little bit under the strains of some of the conventions of broadcast television. He’s a fairly dark individual. They’re adult stories, and I think we can make them more so with a little more, not license, but freedom. So I’m enthused, but I don’t have anything. I have agents and they’re talking.”"

So far, there’s no word, but with Blue Bloods ending this year, Selleck will have time, and fans would love to see one more Jesse Stone movie to add to the mix.
