In some great news, we know that the Fire Country spin-off, Sheriff Country, is happening. It will be led by Morena Baccarin.

That should suggest that she won’t be back for the third season of the first responder drama series. However, Sheriff Country isn’t going to premiere until fall 2025 at the earliest. It’s set for the next season round of TV shows, and that means time for Mickey to show up again in Fire Country. Will it happen?

TVLine asked showrunner Tia Napolitano about this. Here’s everything we know?

Mickey will be back in Fire Country Season 3

In some exciting news, we will get to see Mickey return. This isn’t surprising when you consider she’s getting her own series but not right away. The flagship show will want to make sure fans remember who she is and form a bond with her. That’s the best way to get them to watch the spin-off when it does happen. If the spin-off was happening this fall or even in the midseason, we wouldn’t expect to see her return.

We also know that the season will pick up straight off the back of the Season 2 finale. There is no time jump, which means we should see Mickey and Sharon in a good place. The second season saw Mickey have to admit that her daughter was in rehab, and that made her feel like a failure. She’d spent so long judging Sharon for raising Bode the way she did, that she now feels like everything she has done for her daughter failed her.

It's not clear how many episodes Baccarin will be in. However, it’s likely to be a few so that we can get to know more about her before we see her move over to Sheriff Country.
