Murder in a Small Town lands Alert's timeslot on Fox in fall 2024

Kristen Kreuk has landed another Canadian crime drama, and this one is heading to Fox for its Stateside linear viewing. Murder in a Small Town will be part of the Tuesday night of crime on Fox in fall 2024.

Yes, Murder in a Small Town will take over what is currently the Alert: Missing Persons Unit timeslot. It will air on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the network. Alert isn’t on the move. It is going to remain a fall show, and there is a chance that it will take its timeslot back considering this Canadian drama is only slated to have nine episodes.

What is Murder in a Small Town about?

Murder in a Small Town is a B.C.-filmed series and is based on the Karl Alberg novel series by L.R. Wright. Rossif Sutherland will take on the role of Karl Alberg, with Mya Lowe playing his partner Corporal Edwina Yen. The two work together to figure out the sudden series of murders that happen in a small coastal town.

This hall happens as Karl moves to the area. He’s expecting a slower pace of life compared to the previous one he knew. He wants quiet and peaceful, but that’s not what he’s going to get. Instead, he ends up learning that the smaller the town, the more the secrets that town holds.

Fans have seen Kreuk in a lawyer role solving crimes before thanks to Burden of Truth. That’s not the case in this new series, though. She’ll play Cassandra, a librarian who ends up becoming Karl’s muse throughout the cases. Of course, she is also Karl’s love interest—because all shows need a love interest apparently.

A night of crime on Tuesdays

Murder in a Small Town makes up a two-hour block of crime drama on Tuesdays on Fox. Fans will start the night with Accused Season 2.

This is one of two new dramas coming to Fox in the 2024–2025 season. Rescue: Hi Surf will air on Mondays following 911 Lone Star Season 5.
