My Life Is Murder has come to the end of another season. The last two episodes of Season 4 certainly had us on the edges of our seats. In a way, there did seem to be a little closure, allowing the series to end if it needs to.

That doesn’t mean we want to see it end. We’re waiting on news of My Life Is Murder Season 5 happening, and we certainly need it. This is a series that brings a great mixture of everything.

My Life Is Murder proves the case-of-the-week format isn’t dead

My Life Is Murder proves that a procedural format still works well. Each episode is a standalone case, giving us closure with each murder. We get to see who Alexa works it out, figuring out clues based on a few things people say here and there.

At the same time, we see some great development of relationships. There’s time for Alexa and Madison to talk about things that aren’t murder, and we see how Alexa and Reuben continue to form their bond. I just wish we got to see Harry more, as it’s clear that Alexa and Harry are friends.

A focus on female friendship is important

My Life Is Murder also gives us a look at positive female friendship. Alexa and Madison’s friendship has grown considerably since the first season. We’ve seen Alexa realize that she doesn’t just need Madison’s help. She wants Madison’s help, and she wants Madison in her life.

Alexa has supported Madison in her dreams. At no point are the two threatened by each other. They are there for each other, whether it’s the good or the bad. We need to see that on the TV to promote the idea of women empowerment. It’s time to get rid of the cattiness.

My Life Is Murder shows off beautiful New Zealand

There is so much culture and life in New Zealand. It’s rare for a TV show filmed there to get to show it off. Think about how a lot of the shows filmed there are fantasy ones. My Life Is Murder gives us the chance to see the country for its beauty.

This season also brought us the gift of culture. We got to see the Samoan way of life, and there are so many other Aboriginal cultures in the country. It’s time to shine a light on them, and a fifth season would allow the show to do that.
