NCIS: Origins is an origin story for Gibbs. While Mark Harmon will narrate the series, Austin Stowell will take on the role. It’s a chance to see Gibbs in the 1990s when he joined Mike Franks’s NCIS team.

Kyle Schmid will play Mike Franks in NCIS: Origins
Kyle Schmid has been cast in the role, according to Deadline. You’ll know him as John Wayne Kleinsasser in Big Sky Season 1. He was part of the second case for Jenny to work on, getting pulled into it by a former flame.
He also played Henry Durham in the U.S. version of Being Human, and he was in Six as Alex Caulder. If you turn to Netflix, you’ll see him as Moses in I-Land, and you can see him in episodes of Accused and The Rookie.
