January is usually the time of year when we get to see our favorite shows return from winter break. January 2024 is going to be very different. Don’t expect to see NCIS Season 21.
We have had a long wait for the new season. The good news is that it’s still happening. The bad news is that it’s been heavily delayed this year. It’s got nothing to do with the show’s overall performance on the networks and is all linked to the strike action this summer.
In some great news, we have a light at the end of the tunnel—and it’s not an oncoming train. We know exactly when NCIS Season 21 will premiere, and we have some details about one of the important episodes of the season.
When will NCIS Season 21 premiere on CBS?
We won’t get any new episodes in January 2024. That’s not surprising when you consider how long it takes to get the first episodes of a season in the bag. The strike action only came to a full end in November, and production couldn’t start until after Thanksgiving.
February it is. We’ll get to watch the first episode of NCIS Season 21 on Monday, Feb. 12. The episode will air at 9 p.m. ET/PT with NCIS: Hawaii Season 3 following it.
The following week, Monday, Feb. 19, will have an important episode. It’s the memorial episode for Ducky. Actor David McCallum died in September 2023 at the age of 90. He died peacefully, and fans have wondered how his passing will be handled in the series. Well, it looks like the team will have a chance to remember him deeply as they work on a last case that he can help with from beyond the grave. The episode was co-written by Brian Dietzen, which only seems fitting considering how much screentime the two shared.
NCIS Season 21 premieres on Monday, Feb. 12 at 9/8c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
