12 new crime shows we're most excited about in 2024
Manhunt
Before April 14, 1865, John Wilkes Booth was an esteemed actor. That all changed when he shot President Abraham Lincoln to become the most infamous killer in American history. The new Apple TV+ series, Manhunt, focuses on the national manhunt as Booth (Anthony Boyle) found himself the most wanted man in America.
As Booth slowly goes mad from the chase, Secretary of War Edwin Stanton runs a brutal manhunt while undermining Lincoln’s plans for Reconstruction. It’s a gripping mix of crime drama, psychological thriller and political tale that delves into the murder that changed the country forever.
Manhunt premieres on Apple TV+ on Friday, March 15.
Dead Boy Detectives
Netflix had huge success adapting Nail Gaiman’s comic book Sandman to the screens. So its working on another of his books about a unique detective pair with Dead Boy Detectives. When they’re both killed in a boarding school disaster, Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine decide not to enter the afterlife but instead stay on Earth to investigate supernatural-themed crimes.
Naturally, being unliving gives the pair some special abilities they use for their crime-solving with a psychic ally. From a simple kidnapping case to a clash against a wicked witch, these Detectives are ready for cases no one living or dead could handle.
Dead Boy Detetives is coming to Netflix in April 2024.
