We know breaks in the schedule have to happen. Take a look at whether Blue Bloods will see its first break in the schedule or not this week.

There is some bad news. Blue Bloods is taking a night off from new episodes tonight, Friday, March 8. It is not alone, as Fire Country is also taking a night off. Instead, we have two episodes of SWAT Season 7.

Instead of a new episode of the Reagan family series, we’ll get to watch a rerun. It’s back to the first hour of the season, which sees the start of Jamie’s dangerous undercover mission.

When will new episodes of Blue Bloods return to CBS?

It is disappointing to see a break happen already. These breaks are needed, though. The series only has 10 episodes to this season, and the plan for CBS will be to wrap up the show in late April or May. This is the standard time for shows that usually begin in the fall. With more than 10 weeks between the premiere and the likely intended finale time period, breaks are needed.

The breaks will also help with the filming schedule. Post-production takes time, and the breaks in the schedule help to get more episodes in the can.

While there is a date of Saturday, March 16 going around. This is likely a mistake. The plan looks to be to bring the series back on Friday, March 15 instead. There is no way CBS is going to put the show on a Saturday night! So, this is only going to be a one-week break.

There is likely another break coming later this month due to March Madness. We’ll see what the plans are closer to the time.
