After the success of the first season, it wasn’t that surprising to learn that Poker Face had landed a second season. News about this second season has been quiet, though.

Of course, it wasn’t that long after the renewal that the writers and actors strike happened. That delayed a lot of projects, and it looks like that includes the Peacock series. However, the series hasn’t been canceled due to the strikes.

Work on Poker Face Season 2 is clearly underway. We now have four guest stars to look forward to.

Who will guest star in Poker Face Season 2?

Dawson’s Creek star Katie Holmes is among the names joining the cast for the season. Others are Giancarlo Esposito, Gaby Hoffmann, and Kumail Nanjiani.

There are no details about who the four stars will play. They are only guest stars, though, which means they’re likely only around for one episode. This suits the way that the show tells the story.

Natasha Lyonne stars as Charlie, a woman with the extraordinary ability to just know when someone is telling a lie. She uses that to help solve crimes, although she’s not a private detective. In fact, half of the time she’s not even there to solve the crime. She just ends up intrigued about things that are going on.

Charlie is actually on the run from her former boss. In the first season, she found out that her best friend was murdered and her former boss fell out of a window to his death, and now a hitman is after her. She constantly needs to stay ahead of the game, which takes her to different towns, where there are crimes to solve. Charlie remains on the run in the second season, but it looks like there will be plenty of more crimes to solve.

The best thing about this crime drama is that it’s not a traditional whodunit. We already know who killed the person. Charlie helps us figure out why the crime was committed, and she also figures out how.
