The Fly Team loses another team member in FBI: International Season 3

There are a few shows that have a revolving door of cast members. FBI: International is at risk of turning into that with the latest exit.

Damien Powell is off the Fly Team. His actions over the course of the last two episodes made it clear that he just isn’t right for Forrester’s team. The question is just how permanent that is going to be.

Is Powell fired in FBI: International?

Damien Powell hasn’t been fired from the Fly Team. Instead, Forrester found a way to keep him with the FBI and just transfer him to another department. This new department will be better when it comes to Powell’s skills and need to be in the field.

Powell is heavy handed and hot headed. We saw in Bulgaria that he locked himself in a room with a suspect and beat the person hard. Smitty was able to help him out with her Europol connections, but it wasn’t easy. On top of that, the team had to lie for him.

Then in the most recent episode, he struggled with being benched. He made it clear that he is more useful in the field and Forrester agreed. So, Forrester arranged for Powell to be transferred to Germany, where he’ll work in a big undercover op.

Could Powell return to the Fly Team?

Is this exit for good? Right now, it certainly seems like it. Powell had joined the team at the end of the second season and hadn’t really made a mark before the big explosion. He was alienating himself from other team members, including Vo and Raines.

It does seem better for him to be on a bigger mission, one that will use his undercover skills better. That doesn’t mean we can’t ever see him back, though. Germany is where Jaeger is, and the Fly Team reconnected with her in the second season. Could we see a storyline that brings the team back to Germany and reconnects with both Jaeger and Powell?
